Nigeraian Ademola Lookman has beaten Simon Adingra from Cote D’ivore, Achraf Hakimi from Morocco and many more to be crowned 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) player of the year.
The continent awards which celebrate African footballers and officials who have distinguished themselves during 2024 saw Lookman win the prestigious award on Monday night — on his first attempt/winner.

The Nigerian who has never been listed in the previous editions of the award, but has deleared as the winner of this edition.
The winners for each category were announced during the CAF Awards ceremony at the Marrakesh, Morocco.
The Atlas Loin Bilal El Khannouss and Eliesse Ben Seghir lost the youth category award to Lamine Camara of Senegal.
Barbra Banda, Copper Bullet of Zambia forward, also dethroned 2023 winner, Asisat Oshoala of Super Falcons .
Lamia Boumehdi of TP Mazembe and Emerse Fae of Cot d’ivoire, win coach of year Emerse Fae once again to retain his stand as best African coach so far.
